The old Mill  was built in 1899 by João Pereira da Silva on the Ametade brook.

Along the years, the Moinho past to Manuel Mendes family.

Later on, it was acquired by Carlos de Melo Vidal, TAP Pilot and Maria Leonor.

People started to call  “Moinho do Comandante” « » “The Captain’s Mill”.
